Louis Hoffman

Louis Hoffman

Louis Hoffman is U.S. patent attorney with 25 years of intellectual-property experience, in patent commercialization, litigation and licensing, and application work. Through the law firm of Louis J. Hoffman, P.C., now known as the Hoffman Patent Firm, he has negotiated hundreds of patent sales and licenses.

Mr. Hoffman has been approved to practice law in California and Arizona, before numerous U.S. District Courts, before the Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and in the U.S. Patent Office.

Mr. Hoffman obtained his undergraduate degree in 1981 from Princeton University and his law degree in 1984 from Harvard Law School, both with honors. He is a member of the board of the National Association of Patent Practitioners. Mr. Hoffman is a noted speaker on patent rights.

Because of his decades of experience advising independent inventors, small and mid-sized companies, and start-ups on litigation, licensing, patent sales transactions, and enforcement strategy, Mr. Hoffman has the credentials and credibility to advocate forcefully for patent settlements with NPEs on behalf of Patendex members.

 

Philip Parker

Philip Parker

Philip Parker is the founder of P.J. Parker & Co., the largest broker of patent sales in Japan, with over half the top 20 high tech firms in Japan as its clients.

Dr. Parker has over 20 years' experience in high tech industries and intellectual property. He has established the Japan offices of a number of high tech companies, including vendors of network equipment, software, and semiconductors, and an undersea fiber optic telecommunications cable operator. He is a co-founder and board member of systemsGo, a leading systems integration firm based in Tokyo.

In his earlier career, Dr. Parker worked as a management consultant at Arthur D. Little and at A.T. Kearney. His clients were major telecommunications network operators and governments in almost all the countries of East Asia. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Australian National University and studied at both Osaka University of Foreign Studies and at Kyoto University. A long-term resident of Japan, Dr. Parker speaks Japanese fluently.

Takashi Tazaki

Takashi Tazaki

As the COO of P.J. Parker & Co., Takashi Tazaki is responsible for relations with that firm's patent brokering clients in Japan. He has extensive experience in patent transactions.

Previously Mr. Tazaki worked for over 30 years at Unisys Japan in major account sales and business development to the financial sector and the government sector, and various management positions. He helped establish the networking business of Unisys Japan, which grew into the subsidiary Uniadex.
